Presidio Capacitors Play Critical Role in NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory

April 22, 2010 — The Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) is the first mission to be launched for NASA'S Living With a Star (LWS) Program, a program designed to understand the causes of solar variability and its impact on Earth.

The control part of the SDO was built primarily to NASA's 311 drawing, and Presidio has the majority of parts in this critical section of the satellite. The first video images from SDO are now coming back to Earth. Here is a rare view of an impressive solar flare. As you can see, Presidio's parts are performing well!
